Serenity is 12 Panel Now's own line of urine drug test cups, sold direct. The range runs from 5 to 28 panels in 103 configurations, CLIA waived and Forensic Use Only, from $0.79 a cup at 20,000+.
What is the Serenity Click Cup?
A one-step urine drug test. The donor fills the cup, the click-top lid seals it, and the test strips inside read the sample without pipetting or dipping. A temperature strip on the cup shows whether the sample is fresh, and 42 configurations also check for adulterants (pH, specific gravity and creatinine). The standard cup holds 120 mL; a 90 mL economy cup costs less.
How to use it
- Check the cup's expiry date and open the pouch just before use.
- The donor provides the sample directly into the cup. Close the lid until it clicks.
- Check the temperature strip straight away, as the package insert describes.
- Read each drug's result at the time given in the package insert.
- Record the result. Send any non-negative result to a laboratory for confirmation.

How to read the result
- Negative
- Two colored lines appear: one in the control region (C) and one in the test region (T) for that drug. A line in T of any intensity, even a faint one, means negative for that drug.
- Preliminary positive
- Only one colored line appears, in the control region (C). No line appears in the test region (T) for that drug. This means the drug may be present at or above the cutoff level.
- Invalid
- No line appears in the control region (C). Discard the test and repeat with a new device. If it happens again, contact us.
Always follow the package insert for the specific test. Preliminary positive results should be confirmed by a laboratory using GC-MS or LC-MS/MS.
CLIA waived or Forensic Use Only
CLIA waived means the FDA has categorized the test as simple to perform. A site that uses waived tests for clinical purposes still needs a CLIA Certificate of Waiver from CMS and must follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Forensic Use Only tests are for forensic drugs-of-abuse testing by courts, probation and parole, law enforcement, corrections and other forensic programs, as described on the label. They are not for clinical diagnosis, treatment decisions or home use.
The Serenity range has 32 CLIA waived and 71 Forensic Use Only cups; the forensic cups add strips such as Alcohol (EtG), Synthetic cannabinoids (K2), Kratom and Ketamine.

Are Serenity cups CLIA waived?
32 of the 103 Serenity cups are CLIA waived and 71 are Forensic Use Only. CLIA waived means the FDA has categorized the test as simple to perform. A site that uses waived tests for clinical purposes still needs a CLIA Certificate of Waiver from CMS and must follow the manufacturer's instructions.
How accurate is the Serenity cup?
The accuracy figures for each configuration, measured against laboratory confirmation, are in its package insert. Ask us for the insert of the cup you are considering. Every non-negative result is preliminary and should be confirmed by a laboratory.
Can Serenity cups be used for DOT testing?
No. Instant (point-of-collection) tests can't be used for DOT-required testing. Under 49 CFR Part 40, DOT tests must be collected on a federal custody and control form and analyzed at an HHS-certified laboratory. Instant cups, dip cards and oral swabs are for non-DOT programs, such as company-policy pre-employment, random, reasonable-suspicion and post-accident testing.
Do positive results need to be confirmed?
Yes. A positive result on an instant test is preliminary. Before any legal, employment or clinical action, have the specimen confirmed by a certified laboratory using GC-MS or LC-MS/MS. 12 Panel Now isn't affiliated with a specific laboratory, so customers arrange confirmation testing independently.
