What Is MDMA?

MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine) is a synthetic drug with stimulant and hallucinogenic effects. It is sold as ecstasy pills or as molly powder and crystals. The body breaks MDMA down into MDA, which is also excreted in urine.

Why Test for MDMA?

Street MDMA is often mixed with other substances, and use can lead to overheating, dehydration and dangerous drug interactions. MDMA screening is used by treatment programs, clinics, workplaces and other testing programs – especially where party-drug use is a concern.

How to use a single-panel drug test dip card: open, dip, read

How to Use the MDMA Dip Card

  1. Remove the dip card from the sealed foil pouch and take off the cap.
  2. Dip the exposed test strip into the urine sample for 10–15 seconds.
  3. Allow the urine to migrate up the test strip.
  4. Replace the cap and lay the dip card flat on a clean, dry, non-absorbent surface.
  5. Read the results at 5 minutes. Do not read after 10 minutes.

How to Read MDMA Dip Card Results

Drug Test Strips Positive Result

Positive

Only one colored line appears, in the control region (C). No line appears in the test region (T). This means MDMA was detected at or above 500 ng/mL.

Drug Test Strips Negative Result

Negative

Two colored lines appear: one in the control region (C) and one in the test region (T). Any line in the T region, even a very faint one, counts as negative.

Drug Test Strips Invalid Result

Invalid

No line appears in the control region (C). Discard the result and repeat the test with a new dip card. If the problem persists, stop using the lot and contact 12 Panel Now.

MDMA Dip Card – Frequently Asked Questions

How long does MDMA stay in urine?

MDMA is usually detectable in urine for about 1–3 days after last use. The exact window depends on the dose, how often it is used and individual metabolism.

Is molly the same as ecstasy?

Both names refer to MDMA. Ecstasy usually means pressed pills, while molly is typically sold as powder or crystals and marketed as pure – but street products of both kinds are often mixed with other drugs. This card detects MDMA; other substances require their own tests.

Will a standard amphetamine test detect MDMA?

Sometimes, but not reliably. Many amphetamine and methamphetamine immunoassays cross-react with MDMA, but with roughly half the sensitivity they have for amphetamine itself. A dedicated MDMA test like this dip card is the better choice when ecstasy use is a concern.

What can cause a false positive for MDMA?

Some medications and compounds with similar chemical structures can cross-react with MDMA screening tests. Always ask about prescription and over-the-counter medications, and confirm non-negative results with a laboratory method such as GC/MS.

How do I read a very faint line?

Any visible line in the test region (T), even a very faint one, means the result is negative. The result is positive only when a line appears in the control region (C) and no line appears in the test region (T).

Is a positive result final?

No. This is a rapid screening test that gives a preliminary result. Confirm non-negative results with a laboratory test such as GC/MS or LC-MS/MS before making treatment, employment or legal decisions.

Do I need a CLIA certificate to use this test?

The MDMA dip card is CLIA waived. Facilities that perform clinical testing on patients generally need a CLIA Certificate of Waiver. Contact thestaff@12panelnow.com if you have questions about your use case.
