This Serenity single-panel oxycodone dip card screens urine for oxycodone at a 1000 ng/mL cutoff. Standard opiate tests often miss oxycodone, so a dedicated OXY test is the reliable way to screen for OxyContin®, Percocet® and other oxycodone products.

Features

  • Detects oxycodone (OXY) at a 1000 ng/mL cutoff
  • Catches what standard opiate tests miss
  • Results in about 5 minutes

What Is Oxycodone?

Oxycodone is a semi-synthetic prescription opioid used for moderate to severe pain. It is the active ingredient in medications such as OxyContin®, Roxicodone® and Percocet® (oxycodone with acetaminophen), and it is frequently misused.

Why Test for Oxycodone?

Because oxycodone is made from thebaine rather than morphine, standard opiate (OPI) screening tests usually do not detect it. Pain management clinics, treatment programs and workplace testing programs use OXY tests to monitor prescribed use and identify misuse.

How to use a single-panel drug test dip card: open, dip, read

How to Use the Oxycodone Dip Card

  1. Remove the dip card from the sealed foil pouch and take off the cap.
  2. Dip the exposed test strip into the urine sample for 10–15 seconds.
  3. Allow the urine to migrate up the test strip.
  4. Replace the cap and lay the dip card flat on a clean, dry, non-absorbent surface.
  5. Read the results at 5 minutes. Do not read after 10 minutes.

How to Read Oxycodone Dip Card Results

Drug Test Strips Positive Result

Positive

Only one colored line appears, in the control region (C). No line appears in the test region (T). This means oxycodone was detected at or above 1000 ng/mL.

Drug Test Strips Negative Result

Negative

Two colored lines appear: one in the control region (C) and one in the test region (T). Any line in the T region, even a very faint one, counts as negative.

Drug Test Strips Invalid Result

Invalid

No line appears in the control region (C). Discard the result and repeat the test with a new dip card. If the problem persists, stop using the lot and contact 12 Panel Now.

Oxycodone Dip Card – Frequently Asked Questions

Does oxycodone show up on a standard opiate test?

Usually not. Standard opiate (OPI) tests are designed to detect morphine and codeine, and oxycodone – which is made from thebaine – is usually not detected. That is why a dedicated oxycodone test like this dip card is needed.

How long does oxycodone stay in urine?

Oxycodone is typically detectable in urine for up to about 3 days after the last dose. Detection time depends on the dose, how long it has been used and individual metabolism.

Will Percocet or OxyContin cause a positive result?

Yes. Both contain oxycodone, as do Roxicodone® and many generic pain medications. A positive result cannot tell prescribed use from misuse, so verify prescriptions before interpreting results.

Does this test detect fentanyl or other opioids?

This card is designed to detect oxycodone. Fentanyl, methadone, buprenorphine and natural opiates such as morphine and codeine each require their own test. Refer to the package insert for the list of compounds that may cross-react.

What does the 1000 ng/mL cutoff mean?

The test reads positive only when the urine contains oxycodone at or above 1000 ng/mL. Samples with lower concentrations read negative.

How do I read a very faint line?

Any visible line in the test region (T), even a very faint one, means the result is negative. The result is positive only when a line appears in the control region (C) and no line appears in the test region (T).

Is a positive result final?

No. This is a rapid screening test that gives a preliminary result. Confirm non-negative results with a laboratory test such as GC/MS or LC-MS/MS before making treatment, employment or legal decisions.
